Guests and citizens of the Austrian city of
Linz were able to witness 50 lights in the sky. Those were not aliens as
some might think, but fifty quadrotors that were lifted into the air to present a synchronized light show.
The show was entitled "The Cloud in the Web" and it included AscTec Hummingbird quadrocopters that were connected via radio, programmed by a group composed of specialists from Ars Electronica Futurelab and Ascending Technologies GmbH.
It seems that currently 50 is the highest number of robotic hummingbirds that can be synchronized simultaneously.
