Rainbow Rose

Rainbow Rose

The rainbow rose is a rose that has artificially colored petals. The method exploits the rose's natural processes by which water is drawn up the stem. The stems are splitting and dipping each part in a different colored water, the colors are drawn into the petals resulting in a multicolored rose.

History

In 2004, two dutch companies, River Flowers and F.J. Zandbergen, experimented and successfully grew this rose that had its petals rainbow colored. As petals get their nourishment through stem, the idea is to split the stem into several channels and dip each in a different colored water. By this way all the colors can be drawn by the stem into petals and resultant is the rose which will have all the colors in it.
